We plan to take a step that will fundamentally change the shape of the city. The space between the centre, the Spolchemie area and the Předlice district is one of the most problematic parts of Ústí nad Labem. This is where the decline of industry, neglected environment and social polarization have been manifested over the long term. A location with huge potential has been in decline for decades and has gradually become a neglected area of the city.
Today, however, this part of the city is located in the immediate vicinity of the future multimodal high-speed railway terminal. This makes it one of the most strategic areas in the whole region. We want to take this chance and create a new district that will become a symbol of the modern transformation of Ústí nad Labem.

Our ambition
The ambition is to create a new urban district that will combine housing, work, education, culture, public services and greenery into one accessible and well-connected territory according to the principle of a 15-minute city. The New Town is to become the modern core of Ústí nad Labem. A place with quality public space, affordable services and a variety of housing and job opportunities. A zone that will support the innovative economy in cooperation with university, businesses and technology companies.
Why it's important
We are faced with a chance that rarely occurs in European cities of this size. The combination of a large area in the heart of the city and a direct link to the high-speed railway creates a situation that urban planners and investors around the world consider to be the biggest catalyst for growth. The cities that took advantage of this opportunity have in a few years transformed from industrial peripheries into modern and confident centres. Ústí nad Labem can be another one of them.
What has been a weakness for decades can become the biggest advantage. The city has a space that other cities lack.
