Key discussions on the upcoming Housing Policy, which is set to become one of the main pillars of the city’s development, have begun at the Ústí nad Labem City Hall.

One of the goals of the new Housing Policy is to ensure the sustainable management of the city’s housing stock so that revenues cover maintenance and modernization. The plan includes support for affordable housing for the middle class and specific target groups. Clear management rules are intended to give the city a better overview of the condition of its assets and enable more effective investments in their renovation.
Discussions with district representatives focused on addressing problem areas and the need to unify housing stock management into a transparent system. The proposed vision also includes supporting urban development that prevents social exclusion and contributes to improving the quality of life and the city’s overall image.
The involvement of city districts is an important part of the housing policy-making process, which is why they now have the opportunity to submit their comments. Once these have been addressed, a second round of negotiations will take place at the end of January.
