At a time when Czech regions are facing structural challenges and competition between cities is growing, Ústí nad Labem can take a decisive step and become the first city in the Czech Republic to create a modern Special Economic Zone. The city will thus enter the ranks of European leaders of economic transformation and attract investors who are now looking for stable, predictable and attractive places for their development.
We want to create an environment that offers investors clear rules, quicker decision-making and a special support scheme. We are creating an instrument that not only in Poland or the Baltic countries has fundamentally accelerated economic growth and brought thousands of new jobs to structurally affected areas. Ústí nad Labem has the chance to become the first Czech successful example.
Our ambitions
We will create a territory that will become the most important centre of the modern economy in northern Bohemia. We will attract investors from fields with high added value, which will create at least 9,500 skilled jobs in the next few years. The special economic zone will be a tool that will enable a major leap in the economic performance of the city and the whole region.
The project will include premises and conditions for small companies, start-ups or spin-offs. The zone will strengthen cooperation between the city, university, secondary schools and businesses so as to create an interconnected knowledge economy that will allow local companies to grow and attract new professionals to the region.
